Assessed the feasibility of on-site sanitation systems and developed a 5-year budgeted implementation plan to address sanitation challenges, mapping solution providers, and engaging the community in system operation and maintenance.The study also included the assessment of sludge management solutions at the community level.

Omni-Processor Operation Management – UNICEF – Lebanon
Managed the daily operations of the Iaat Omni-Processor, a decentralized wastewater treatment plant implemented by UNICEF to process fecal sludge from informal settlements and to collect insights on bio-solids recovery for potential reuse in agriculture.

TSS Sensor Testing – Eawag – Lebanon
Supported EAWAG Engineers in field testing sensors to optimize conditioner dosage for the dewatering of fecal sludge by correlating TSS measurements with polymer usage.

Volaser Device Testing – Eawag – Lebanon
Tested the Volaser device developed by Eawag as one of eight international partners conducting on-site sampling and measurements of fecal sludge in seepage pits. Conducted field assessment and laboratory testing for fecal sludge in West Bekaa, raising awareness about wastewater treatment and contributing to global data on fecal sludge management.

Liquid Fertilizer from Leachate Research and Development Project – Lebanon
Explored reusing leachate generated from composting operations as liquid fertilizer through disinfection and field tests, validating its effectiveness for plant growth and germination.

Organic Waste Management – PEM Consult – Algeria
Conducted an assessment of the current state of organic waste management in two of the largest wholesale vegetable markets of Bougara and Boufarik within the Blida province. This included solution design, feasibility study of a composting facility, market assessment of compost, farmers best practices, and more.

Hazmieh Composting Facility – WE4F – Lebanon
Established a containerized facility producing 300-500 tons of compost annually from fruits and vegetables, animal manure and landscape waste; promoting urban composting and sustainability in the urban setting of Hazmieh.
